SenseSational Storytime
Is StoryTime overwhelming for your child? Maybe they just can’t sit still for the program, and you worry that they’ll be distracting to the other kids?
SenseSational Storytime is a program designed just for our young patrons with autism, ADHD, or other sensory processing issues!
This means that unique sensory needs have been considered while planning what stories to read and activities to do, and we’ll try to engage as many senses as we can, not just listening and watching. It also means that this is a safe space for kids to interact with the stories and activities in the way that works best for them! This is a storytime program where it’s OK to stand up and jump while we read a story, or to listen without trying to watch; we want kids to enjoy storytime, no matter how that looks!
This storytime is designed for ages 6-11 and will be held on specific dates at the Cedartown Library. For more information please contact the Cedartown Library by calling 770-748-5644.
