To receive a library card, visit your local library and bring a valid photo ID or two documents from the approved list. The most common form of ID is a driver’s license, but a utility bill, non-driver ID, or other form that clearly shows an in-county street address will be accepted. If you do not live in Georgia, but own property here, simply provide a valid photo ID and a tax bill showing the address of your property.
Our library cards are free to residents and students in Georgia. A non-resident may sign up for a library card for an annual cost of $25.00. If your library card has been misplaced, you can receive a new one for free.
There is no minimum age requirement to sign up for a library card, but a signature from a parent or legal guardian is required for children under the age of 18. The child must be present to receive his or her card. A library card in good standing may check out up to 50 items.
A signature from a parent or legal guardian is required to issue a library card to children under 18, but grandparents/relatives/babysitters are welcome to check out materials by signing up for a library card of their own.

Cards can be renewed online by logging into your PINES account or by visiting your local branch.
